Mother Wind Fire Water Heart

Treat me like I am the mother of all beings

That I am

Wombs birth, ashes rise

Circles go on forever

So am I

Treat me as though I am the life bringer

The harbinger

As I am

Softly, with kindness

Cradle my flesh

Weep not for suffering

Alleviate it

Offer me rest

Serve me a hot plate of love

Offer me rest

The world goes on

Patriarchy has no time for the weary

No time shall be given

For the caregiver, for the nurturer

No mercy, no control

Floating in a sea

Of dishes, legos, & laundry

Ask me what I need

I’d beg if I wasn’t

So hungry; I’m starving

Til death do you part

Or til I’m suckled dry

The cow is out to pasture

Deserted

Where am I?

The bones are brittle now

They ache, they moan

Ne’er a day of peace

A moment of our own

Treat us as though we are the mother of all beings

Before our heads lie under the stone
